UPDATE 3-23/14 BY OUR DIRECTOR: "They have NO idea what a precious little treasure they returned to our shelter... Piper was adopted out when she was just a puppy. I checked on her several times those first few months and the lady always told me she was doing just fine. And then she called me when Piper was about a year old and told me they didn't want her anymore. They drove her to Tunica and handed her off at the door of my office without even a goodbye hug. That was over a year ago but Gail and I will never forget that day. This little dog is precious beyond words. Sometimes when I am cleaning Piper's kennel, I start to cry because she is so sweet and I love her so much. She's so happy just to be with us. Everyday we stuff her bed with blankets and she is standing there just waiting to dive in when we get through. Her needs are so simple. Her heart is so pure. I really don't know what those people were expecting of this sweet dog because she blesses our lives daily with her precious little ways. " Piper is only about a year old and I've got to say that he is just a really beautiful boy. He is a little shy around new people but warms up quickly when he sees that he is safe. He isn't a noisy boy and he isn't one to jump up on you. He does have energy and wants to have a nice yard to run around in and he loves little boys so if you have one of those to run around in the yard with him that would be great. Both of them could tire out and then snuggle in together for a nice long quiet nap. Piper would make an excellent friend for any family though - or just one person. Anyone looking for a smallish/medium sized boy who is going to be loyal and be your friend for a long long time would be perfect for our Piper. He is very special to us at THS. Our adoption fee for a dog is $100 and that covers all shots and vetting and spay/neuter. Our animals are fully vetted before we send them off to their new family.
