Blackie wants you to know first off that she didn't have doodley to do with her name. But it does grow on you and is a conversation starter if nothing else. Catahoulas are one of the oldest North American breeds known and are thought to have first been bred by our Native American Indians. Blackie and her sister are Pure Bred CATAHOULA Leopard Dogs. They were surrendered by their owner because she could no longer care for them and wanted to give them a chance at finding a new family to live with... Blackie is very shy around new humans but she warms up quickly when she feels safe and secure. It just takes a little soft talk and some neck scratching and cooing and she comes right around. Blackie is a pretty thing - unusual markings for sure. She is quiet, medium activity and just wants to have a nice, safe place to rest her head and a human's feet to snuggle up next to. The Catahoulas are amazing family dogs and they absolutely want to live WITH their family and not out back alone ..they require daily contact with their humans to be happy but that is what you want too isn't it? A sweet companion?. They are very protective of children so they are like furry nannies..... BLACKIE is so ready for her own home....please call and ask about our sweet Blackie Girl.
